Sophia is a professional psychic and spiritual teacher who has been leading seminars on the psychic development and other topics for many years, both abroad and in the United States. She was taught psychic reading and how to form a relationship with her guardian angel by her grandparents when she was a child. Later she trained as a professional psychic and traveled all over the world as a reader, a teacher and a professional photographer. She furnished about 300 photographs for the book Global Ritualism and has contributed images to several other journals such as New Age, Eye Ai Magazine, City Life News, Via Magazine, Tokyo Today, The Japan International Journal, The Japan Times Weekly and The Tokyo Weekender. She currently teaches seminars on the guardian angel, creativity and other subjects in the Seattle area at Stargazer Bookstore, Mandala Bookstore, Astrology Et Al, East/West Books and Edge of the Circle Books. She also teaches corporate classes for private companies. She currently writes a regular column for The New Times newspaper in Seattle on spiritual issues. She has appeared on the Northwest Live TV show (KOMO TV) a number of times and she has been on the Laura Lee Radio Show (KVI-AM) three times as well as on the Laura Lee national show three times. She has recently been on the radio over 35 times during the publicity campaign for The Hex and Love Spell book and she appeared on the Riki Lake Show as well. She was also featured on online chats with ABC.News.Com, American Online, and Compuserve Interactive Radio. Magical Garden flows naturally from her love of psychic development, from the magical lore her grandparents taught her and from her own love of gardening.

Denny Sargent
BIO
Denny started exploring the ideas of myths, magic and history amidst the many cultures of New York where he grew up. In 1979 he received his BA in Education from Oneonta University and his undergraduate thesis was on the Kabul and Hebrew mysticism. He later was awarded an MA in Ancient History from Western Washington University, his graduate thesis being on the Sun Gods of Mesopotamia and Egypt. He has taught at several colleges, community colleges and academies, always amassing information on various religious and mythic traditions along the way. He has recently returned from teaching at Sundai-ELS Junior College in Tokyo, Japan, where he lived and worked for the last four years. In Japan he had an ecological textbook published called Heal the Earth!, (Dawn Press, 1991) and he was a journalist for Eye Ai Magazine, City Life News, Via Magazine, Tokyo Today, The Japan International Journal, and The Japan Times Weekly. He also wrote regular columns for The Tokyo Weekender, Mini-World and the Asahi Evening News. His last book, published by Llewellyn Worldwide (1994), is Global Ritualism, Myth and Magic around the World a comprehensive survey of the ritual components of religious traditions from around the world. He is an avaid gardener with Sophia and loves collecting history & folklore about garden plants, thus it was natural to colaborate with Sophia on The Magical Garden! He is also an avid student of Eastern religions and has been studying and giving lectures on the I Ching for about two decades.. His newest book book, The Tao of Birth Days, (Summer 2000) is the fruit of this research and these ideas.
Denny & Sophia live in the Pacific Northwest part of the USA with
their son Forrest and their poodle, Thor. They also live, as much as possible,
in their garden!
