METHOD FOR FINDING NATAL HEXAGRAMS
Introduction:
This method of determining a person's Natal
Hexagram was handed down to devotees in the USA of Shri Gurudev Dadaji
Mahendranath, a most amazing and erudite Tantrik holyman. This system was
first published in Mandragore Magazine (©1981.) The origins of this
system are unclear and how it works is certainly a mystery, yet after working
with the results of this system for 15 years, I am convinced that it yields
valid results. Why it works, I have no idea; but it does.

FINDING A NATAL HEXAGRAM
To discover your Natal Hexagram, follow these 6 simple steps:
1. Add the numbers of your birth date across, like so:
Example: If Mr. X was born on April 29, 1911 - add it like this:
April 29, 1911= 4 /29 /1911 = 4+2+9+1+9+1+1= 27
Then reduce it further to a number between 1 - 10 like so:
27 = 2+ 7= 9
9 This is the key number for the top trigram of Mr. X
2. Look at the TRIGRAM KEY NUMBER CHART and find the right trigram by key number. In the case of our example above, the top trigram is # 9 or:

So, this is the top half of this man's natal hexagram.
3. To get the lower trigram, all you need is
your birth year.
In the case of our example, 1911.
Look up your year of birth on the following DATE CHART and you will see the key number of your bottom trigram, depending on whether you are a man or woman. In the case of our example, the birth date being 1911 and our example being a man, the key number is # 8 or:

This is the bottom half of the Natal Hexagram.
4. Now, put the two trigrams together.
The Natal Hexagram for our example man would
be a combination of the top and bottom trigrams, we found, or:

5. Using the I CHING HEXAGRAM CHART, find this hexagram's I Ching number. In the case of the above hexagram, we find that it is:
Hexagram # 39, 'Obstruction'
(The Perservering One)
6. Now, simply look up this hexagram in the following section of the book and you'll see the Natal Hexagram reading.
• Follow these same steps using your birthday and you'll have your Natal Hexagram. This can also be done for anyone else using their birthday.

row, where they meet in the chart is the number of your Natal Hexagram.
